Terms of service

Last updated: 11 July 2026

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of DreamDIY (dreamdiy.co.uk), operated by Struttstep Digital. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use DreamDIY. For how we handle your personal data, see our Privacy policy.

2. The service - what it is, and isn't

DreamDIY is a planning tool. You photograph a room, describe a change, and we generate an AI visualisation of your space along with a materials list, cost estimate, and step-by-step plan (or a tradesperson brief, if you choose to hire).

AI renders are illustrative concepts, not exact predictions of how your finished room will look. Colours, materials, lighting, and proportions may differ from the real-world result. Materials lists, costs, and step plans are guidance to help you plan - always confirm quantities, prices, and suitability with the retailer or supplier before you buy or build.

DIY safety. You are responsible for carrying out any project safely and in line with good practice and applicable regulations. Always use a suitably qualified professional for gas, electrical, or structural work - DreamDIY's plans are not a substitute for professional advice or building control sign-off. To the fullest extent permitted by law, DreamDIY is not liable for the outcome of any project you undertake using our plans, renders, or materials lists.

Tradesperson briefsare a document to help you communicate a project to a tradesperson - they do not constitute a vetting, recommendation, or endorsement of any tradesperson by DreamDIY. You're responsible for checking a tradesperson's qualifications, insurance, and reviews before hiring them.

3. Your account

You need an account to save projects and generate renders. You agree to provide accurate information, keep one account per person, and keep your login details secure. You're responsible for activity that happens under your account.

4. What you pay, and what you get

There is no subscription. You can start as many projects as you like, and a new account gets 5 free AI visualisations. When you want the plan to build a room — the step-by-step instructions, the costed materials list and the tradesperson brief — you join DreamDIY with a single payment of £12.99. Members can top up their visualisations 25 at a time for £4.99. Prices shown in the app at the time of purchase are the ones that apply.

Membership is a one-off payment and is never charged again. It lasts for as long as DreamDIY exists — that is the life of the service, not a personal guarantee — and covers everything the product does today on every project you ever create. It does not promise features we have not built yet. Nothing renews and nothing expires; visualisations you have bought stay on your account while the service operates. If we ever close DreamDIY, we will give at least 90 days' notice and a full export of your projects.

Because your plan is delivered immediately, you are asked at checkout to confirm that you want it straight away and that you understand this ends your 14-day right to cancel. We offer a refund anyway, within 14 days, from your account page. Refunding a purchase removes any unspent visualisations it granted, and refunding your membership ends it — which locks the build plans on every project until you join again. Your photos, visualisations and checklist progress are all kept, so buying again restores everything as it was. After two self-service refunds, please get in touch and we'll sort it out with you directly.

Visualisations are for genuine personal project planning, not bulk or commercial generation. We may contact you or apply reasonable daily limits if usage is clearly outside normal personal use.

5. Acceptable use

When using DreamDIY, you agree not to:

  • Upload photos you don't have the right to use.
  • Upload or publish anything unlawful, offensive, defamatory, or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to disrupt the service, or use automated means to create accounts or generate renders at scale.
  • Use the service to harass, deceive, or impersonate anyone.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.

6. Your content & the community ideas board

You keep ownership of the photos, descriptions, and other content you upload to DreamDIY. By using the service, you grant DreamDIY a licence to host, store, and display that content as needed to provide the service to you (for example, showing your renders back to you, or storing your plan).

If you choose to publish a before/after transformation to the community ideas board, those photos and your project title become public and visible to other users and visitors. Don't publish anything you're not comfortable making public. You can delete your own published posts at any time, and we may remove any published content that breaks these terms.

7. Watermarks

Images exported or shared before you have bought anything carry a small DreamDIY watermark. Once you have bought a project, your exports and shares are watermark-free — on every project, including free ones, permanently.

8. Intellectual property

DreamDIY's branding, design, and software are owned by Struttstep Digital and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or resell any part of the service without our permission.

9. Service availability

We aim to keep DreamDIY available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted uptime. The service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, DreamDIY and Struttstep Digital are not liable for indirect losses or losses arising from your use of AI renders, plans, materials lists, or tradesperson briefs, including any project outcome. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under UK law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

11. Termination

You can stop using DreamDIY and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, or if we discontinue the service, in which case we'll give reasonable notice where possible.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as DreamDIY evolves. If we make significant changes, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, let you know. Continuing to use DreamDIY after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
